AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CORPORATE DIRECTORS
AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CORPORATE DIRECTORS, the education and credentialing subsidiary of the Corporate Directors Group, offers a premier, and exceptional Professional Certification for public company directors, and current or retired C-Suite level executives.
In an age where public companies are under the spotlight because of the egregious offenses of a few, "over the top" compensation and severance packages and executive "perks", corporate directors are increasingly responsible for providing an ethical, skilled, knowledgeable "compass." Boards must not only provide good "optics", but effective leadership on behalf of the shareholder.
The American College of Corporate Directors offers a credentialing program whereby CDG members, in a collaborative education venue, can earn Credit Hours towards the completion of one of the four tiered, increasingly rigorous, certification levels: Professional Director, Advanced Professional Director, Master Professional Director and Executive Masters Professional Director.
CDG and The American College of Corporate Directors stand alone in offering this well respected, important and valuable Professional Director credential.
CDG members who hold one of the four American College of Corporate Directors credentials have had the opportunity to learn the intricacies of board governance, audit practices and executive compensation issues, as well as to be versed in the skills required to manage today's complex legal and ethical environment. Further, they have positioned themselves well for obtaining additional board seats by demonstrating a commitment to their responsibility as shareholder representatives.
Public company CEO's may be asked, "Is your board CDG certified?" Those companies that encourage their board members to pursue an American College of Corporate Directors Professional Director Certification demonstrate that they take seriously their obligation to provide accountable and effective governance.
CDG members must meet the following criteria to earn an American College of Corporate Director Professional Director Certificate.
